BUX App – Explore Literature in Space
The BUX App is a literature-based city guide that emerged from an interdisciplinary research project. The BUX prototype offers 12 multimedia city walks through Zurich. Each walk is based on a story that takes place in Zurich. Discover Zurich and literature in one. BUX is a complementing form to experience literature. It relates space and thoughts, digital and analogue. The authors and actors as tour guides provide a personal and hidden perspective on the city. The navigation works via GPS. On some tours, figures of the story become alive and talk to the user.
Storytelling with audio, video, text, pictures, 360° videos and augmented reality features combine the strengths of each format and explore new potentials. 360° videos and AR features in particular offer deep immersion – become part of the story in the middle of Zurich. The concept of BUX App can be applied to other content (e.g. architecture, history or food) and destinations.
